• A complete sacrifice

I confess that Satan has no power over me, because the Word of God says that the blood of Jesus has redeemed me completely.

The most important day in the Jewish religious year was the day of great forgiveness, known today as Yom Kippur. It was only on this day that the High Priest went to the Holy of Holies with the blood of the sacrifice that covered the sins of Israel for an additional year.

"He [the high priest] will take blood from the bull, and he will sprinkle with his finger on the front of the mercy seat towards the east ; he will sprinkle blood with his finger seven times before the mercy seat." (Leviticus 16:14)

Only the blood could offer propitiation for the sins of the people of God and it had to be brought into the presence of Almighty God, in the Holy of Holies. I would like you to understand in particular that the blood was sprinkled seven times. This repetition was not a coincidence because in the Bible, seven is the number that indicates the work of the Holy Spirit. Seven is also the number of fullness or perfection. This rule has been accurately observed in the way Jesus shed his blood. His blood was shed precisely seven times before the sacrifice was complete.

    Prayer of the day :

Thank you Lord for the blood of Jesus. I proclaim that his complete work on the cross has taken away my sins. I confess that Satan has no power over me, because the Word of God says that the blood of Jesus has redeemed me completely. Amen.
