I confess that Satan has no power over me, because the Word of God says that the blood of Jesus has redeemed me completely.

In light of this confession, we are forced to see that we must understand what the blood of Jesus does for us. Then we have to remove it from the "blood bank" and deposit it in our lives. We find a parallel of this application in the Passover ceremony, which represented the way God provided for the salvation of Israel (see Exodus 12: 21-27.) In every family, the father had to kill a lamb (the sacrifice) and collect his blood in a container. This act demonstrates the immense responsibility of fathers as priests of their family.

However, the blood did not protect any Israelite family while it was in the container, it had to be transferred from it to the place where the family lived. There was only one way to do it and it was using a branch of hyssop. Hyssop is a common plant in the Middle East, it grows everywhere. They had to take a bouquet of hyssop, soak it in the blood and sprinkle the lintel and the two uprights of the door of their home but never the threshold. You must never walk on blood.

Once this was done, the angel of destruction could no longer enter this house. However, only the Israelites who were in the house, safe behind the blood, were protected. This was the only safe place in Egypt on this famous night.

Prayer of the day :

Thank you Lord for the blood of Jesus. I proclaim that I am protected from the opponent by applying blood on myself and my family. I confess that Satan has no power over me, because the Word of God says that the blood of Jesus has redeemed me completely. Amen.
