I want to ask you a question. Do you find it hard to win souls for Jesus, and have you stopped trying ? Should not this problem be first on your calendar ? What ranks first in your church agenda, or on your personal agenda ? Is it a resolution saying that nothing can be done because times are difficult ? God has a way for you, by his Spirit.

Dr. David H. C. Read spoke of a young man of God in a difficult neighborhood in New York, telling his misfortunes and difficulties to a local police officer. The officer tried to cheer him up, saying : "The fact is, Pastor, this is not the kind of place for a Christian church." These words woke him up. What is a Christian church supposed to do, he thought, if it does not operate where the need is greatest ? Skeptics like to be smart. They analyze the situation and bring out the impossibilities with a bombastic language. They "prove" that nothing can be done, using words like pluralism, hedonism, insularity, narcissism, showing, with resonant terms, that the situation is desperate. You would end up thinking that God did not take all that into consideration.

Skeptics are wrong. It's God's time for the harvest. Something can be done, God has prepared everything, not by power, nor by force, but by His Spirit. That's what we can depend on, not on television, radio, money, or education, but on the miraculous power of Jesus.

We only have one generation to reach this generation. The original Gospel mandate is impossible to accomplish without the original power. The perfect strategy of God is complete. There are you and me included. We are woven and intertwined in his plans, plans that can not fail. If we know this, then we can carry it out... hold on... go all the way... whatever happens.
