• Eliminate the sin

I confess that Satan has no power over me, because the Word of God says that the blood of Jesus has redeemed me completely.

As we once again observe the Passover ceremony for Israel, we find a burning question that concerns us today : How do we collect the shed blood (after the completion of the sacrifice) on the place where we live ? As long as the blood remains in the container, it is of no use. He is available but he does not act. The Israelites had to take this simple plant called hyssop, dip it in the blood and pass it on the outside of their house, on the uprights and the top of the door. It was only then that they were protected. However, during the Passover ceremony, there was something else that preceded the application of blood.

Let's read in 1 Corinthians the passage where Paul applies the teaching of Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread to Christians. Every Jewish family had to rid their house of anything that contained leaven for seven consecutive days. Orthodox Jews still observe this practice today.

"Make the old leaven disappear, so that you may be a new dough, since you are unleavened, for Christ, our Passover, was slain. So let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, not with leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of purity and truth." (1 Corinthians 5: 7-8)

We, too, must purge our lives of the old leaven (sin) in order to live in obedience to God. This allows the blood to protect each area.

    Prayer of the day :

Thank you Lord, for the blood of Jesus. I proclaim that when I apply it to my life, I purge it of any sin that may be in me. I confess that Satan has no power over me, because the Word of God says that the blood of Jesus has redeemed me completely. Amen.
