Intolerance ?

To assert today that all religions are equal has become a commonplace. If I dare to say that Jesus is the only way, the only Savior of the world, I will be accused of intolerance, even sectarianism.

But as a Christian, if I believe what Jesus said, what the Apostle Paul says, what the whole Bible proclaims, then I can only say : “Yes, He is the only God !”

Already in the Old Testament, God made himself known to his people in this way : Hear Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one (Deuteronomy 6.4). And it is only in this one God, revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that our diversities can come together in love and peace. There is one God and Father of all, who is above all, among all, and in all (Ephesians 4:6).

Above all : he is the Father. Among all : he is the Son. In all : it is the Spirit. One God manifested in the Trinity.

Thus we proclaim that there is no love greater than that of the Father who sent his only Son to save us. This love is the only one that is perfect. This is also why we recognize in creation the entirely coherent work of one God. And within this universe, God has endowed each human being with a heart to love him, and with a spiritual intelligence to know him.
