• The right decision

Come back to him from whom the Israelites turned away profoundly ! Isaiah 31.6

Here we are, we come to you, for you are the Lord our God... we have sinned... we have not listened. Jeremiah 3.22,25

    The right decision

God loves us and speaks to us. Even today his love invites me to come to him. But my conscience accuses me : how to come to terms with my past ? I still give in to evil when I want to do good. How do I get out of it ? Yet God tenderly invites us to turn to him. He awaits our response. It is enough for him. He takes care of the rest.

This change is a moral decision ; it engages the totality of the being: will, reason and feeling... And it implies considering another way of living.

Human beings are inherently resistant to God's will and goodness. He always wants to try to solve his problems on his own, and some remain unsolved. Difficult to accept, but important to understand: we are all dominated by disbelief.

Making the right decision is therefore not easy. It is even impossible for the man left to his own reasoning. Jesus said : "This is impossible for men, but not for God, for everything is possible for God" (Mark 10:27). Here is a second important point : God is for us, never against us. He takes care of everything if we let him do it. His mercy, the energy of the Holy Spirit, the power of the Word of God are there to make us find the way that leads to the light, to Jesus. So we surrender to his grace, telling him our regret for having so far despised his appeals. It is a total change of thoughts and life. No two conversions are the same. Could you tell yours ?
