• What is your excuse ?

"Do you want to be healed ? ... Lord, I have no one ..." John 5.6-7

This story appeals to me ! Jesus has been offering healing to a sick man for 37 years, by a very explicit question : "Do you want to be healed ?" What does he answer ? "There is no one for me, I am alone, I have been forgotten, no one is there to give me a hand." ... You read correctly, instead of saying "yes" to Jesus, he gives her a list of excuses ...

Things get better when you become responsible.

In his grace, the Lord does not care about this complaint, but he solicits the will of this man : "Arise ..." John 5.8.

All our justifications have a meaning : "I do not want to take the risk of doing my business because I have children to feed, so I prefer to keep this job boring because at least I have job security ..." I would like to develop my dream so much but I lack money ... " Do not lie to us: having children is a big responsibility and not having a lot of money is a problem. Indeed, our loopholes make sense and can be totally true, it's not cinema ! The cripple by the pool had real reasons, no doubt.

On the other hand, where this argument is dangerous, it is because by thinking like this, we end up lying to ourselves : "Because of complexities in my life, I will never be able to live my dreams." Conclusion, we will live a sad life. And then, there will always be someone to blame ...

Are you open to the possibility that this is different ? Do you want to go better where do you prefer to brandish your list of excuses ? There is another solution. Here is a question that comes to break your complaints: is there on this earth, a person who, with the same circumstances as me, managed to accomplish his projects ? In fact, the answer is : YES, there is always one.

If you continue to say that it is not your fault, you will continue to live as a victim. Even if all that you say is true, do not expect to see your situation evolve positively if you always behave like prey.

Act responsibly, what can you do to change the situation ? Even if it's difficult, do not blame others. In fact, things get better when you become responsible.

    A decision for today

I make the decision to no longer behave like a victim or to make God list my impossibilities but I become responsible and actor of my life for things to go forward.
