The days are coming, declares the Lord GOD, when I will send famine upon the land, not hunger for bread and thirst for water, but hunger and thirst to hear the words of the Lord. Eternal. They will then wander from sea to sea, from north to east, going hither and thither to seek the word of the Lord, and they will not find it. Amos 8.11, 12

Where are the Bibles ?

In many countries where religious freedom does not exist, the Bible is a rare book. We know a community of several hundred Christians where only the pastor with his own. On the other hand, here is a house near us in which there are certainly five or six Bibles. Where are they ? One may be in a trunk in the attic ; another at the back of a cupboard ; the others... we no longer know where we put them.

- But on Sunday, to go to worship, do you need one ?

- We don't go to worship. Sunday is the only day you can sleep in.

- But when you have a moment of leisure, or in the evening when everyone comes home, you never read God's book ?

- No, everyone consults their messages or surfs the internet...

The Bible is in the house, but no one is opening it. We continually consult our cell phones, but the Bible never.

Christians, will leave us our money, our jobs and our homes. Let us not neglect the Word of God which abides forever.

Of course, it is not the possession of the Bible that saves, but we have to believe what this book contains.
