Who is God in your life ?

I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 18:30

In chapters 18-20 of the book of Leviticus, the phrase : I am the Lord your God comes up as a refrain 23 times. This means that in all areas of our life, God has a say. But how can you love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind ? By seeking to please him. What does he like ? These chapters enlighten us on this question.

Our world wants us to believe that our behavior is a private matter. But our way of life is not neutral ! We are called to be like God : Be holy, for I am holy, the Eternal your God. (Leviticus 19.2)

Everything belongs to God. Dutch statesman Abraham Kuiper said : “There is not one square inch in the whole universe that Christ, the Sovereign Ruler of all, could not say : This is mine. If God is the Master of everything, the principles inscribed in these texts should guide our life. Not to be a harsh law, but principles received with joy in our hearts : I will place my law deep within themselves, I will engrave it in their hearts. (Jeremiah 31.33) I will put my own spirit within you and I will make of you people who live according to my laws and who obey my commandments to carry them out. (Ezekiel 36.27)

God does not infantilize us, he empowers us. He wants to be God in our lives.
