• The calm and the confidence

God's secret to spiritual strength is found in Isaiah 30:15 : "It is in peace and quiet that your salvation will be, and your strength will be in peace and confidence."

The word used for "calm" in Hebrew means rest - relaxed, free from anxiety. Few Christians today have the kind of tranquility and serenity that is described here. Multitudes of believers are involved in a frenzy of activity, rushing madly to obtain a position, wealth, possessions, pleasure. Even many pastors run everywhere because of fears, fears, seeking answers at conferences, seminars, and successful books. Everyone seems to want solutions, directions, something to calm his mind, but they seek everywhere except the Lord. But God has already spoken a word for them through Isaiah, and if they do not turn to Him, their race will end in pain and confusion.

The apostle Peter speaks of "the interior adornment hidden in the heart, the incorruptible purity of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is of great value before God" (1 Peter 3: 4). Such a mind has nothing to do with temperament or personality. After all, some people are naturally calm and shy while others are just the opposite. No, the peaceful spirit to which Peter refers can only be implanted in us by the Holy Spirit. And the good news is that He gives it to all who trust fully in the Lord.

Is your home a relaxed and peaceful home or a place of doubt, anxiety and worry ? When problems come, do you seek God with perseverance before anything else ? This process of trusting Him in everything is not easy but it must be encouraged !! Our Lord says : "You trusted Me for your salvation and now I want you to trust Me for all things in your life - your health, your family, your future. Give me everything !" Go to the secret place, spend time alone with Him and He will respond to each of your needs ... and more !
