"And the Spirit of God was upon him, and Saul continued his journey, prophesying, until he came to the Nayoth, to Ramah." 1 Samuel 19.23

The spectacle was surprising. So much so that the observers asked, "Is Saul also among the prophets ?"

Today, pray for an outpouring of the Spirit in our world.

Driven by jealousy, Saul was about to kill David when he heard that he had fled to the Nayoth. When the emissaries of Saul came into the city, instead of taking David, they were arrested by the spectacle of Samuel and a group of men who were prophesying. The Spirit of God fell upon them, and they began to prophesy in their turn. Determined to capture David, Saul sent other emissaries, who suffered the same fate. The same was true of the third group !

Saul decided to go in person to Rama. But like his messengers, he fell under the control of the Spirit of God and also began to prophesy. Perhaps this experience was meant to remind him of another antecedent : after Samuel had anointed him king, the Spirit of God seized powerfully from Saul and "God gave him another heart" (1 Samuel 10: 1). -10). This action of the Spirit to the Nayoth was to lead him to remember the call of God over his life and what might happen when he was under the influence of the Spirit.

Unfortunately, Saul soon returned to his old ways. But at least, on this particular occasion, he had experienced the sovereignty of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said : "The wind bloweth where it pleases, and thou hearest the sound thereof : but thou knowest not whence it cometh, nor whither it goeth: so it is with every one that is born of the Spirit" (John 3: 8) . Even in our time, the Spirit does what he wants, for reasons of his own. And its power has no limits.

Today, pray for an outpouring of the Spirit in our world. Pray that we may experience His power as on the day of Pentecost. Give him back your life. It can transform you. And change the world !

A prayer for today

Holy Spirit, I give up my life in your hands. Act through me. Talk to me. Use me to change lives. Teach me. Fill me with your power. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Le spectacle avait de quoi surprendre. À tel point que les observateurs se demandèrent : "Saül est-il aussi parmi les prophètes ?"

Poussé par la jalousie, Saül s’apprêtait à tuer David lorsqu’il apprit que celui-ci avait fui aux Nayoth. Quand les émissaires de Saül arrivèrent dans la ville, au lieu de s’emparer de David, ils furent arrêtés par le spectacle de Samuel et d’un groupe d’hommes qui prophétisaient. L’Esprit de Dieu tomba sur eux et ils se mirent à prophétiser à leur tour. Déterminé à capturer David, Saül envoya d’autres émissaires, qui connurent le même sort. Il en fut de même pour le troisième groupe !

Saül décida de se rendre en personne à Rama. Mais comme ses messagers, il tomba sous le contrôle de l’Esprit de Dieu et se mit lui aussi à prophétiser. Peut-être cette expérience était-elle destinée à lui rappeler une autre, antérieure : après que Samuel l’eut oint roi, l’Esprit de Dieu s’empara puissamment de Saül et "Dieu lui donna un autre cœur" (1 Samuel 10.1-10). Cette action de l’Esprit aux Nayoth devait l’amener à se souvenir de l’appel de Dieu sur sa vie et de ce qui pouvait arriver quand il était sous l’influence de l’Esprit. 

Malheureusement, Saül ne tarda pas à retourner à ses anciennes voies. Mais au moins, en cette occasion particulière, avait-il fait l’expérience de la souveraineté du Saint-Esprit.

Jésus dit : "Le vent souffle où il veut, et tu en entends le bruit ; mais tu ne sais pas d’où il vient ni où il va. Il en est ainsi de quiconque est né de l’Esprit" (Jean 3.8). Même à notre époque, l’Esprit fait ce qu’il veut, pour des raisons qui lui sont propres. Et son pouvoir n’a pas de limites.

Aujourd’hui, priez pour une effusion de l’Esprit dans notre monde. Priez que nous puissions faire l’expérience de sa puissance comme au jour de la Pentecôte. Remettez-lui votre vie. Il peut vous transformer. Et changer le monde !

Saint-Esprit, j’abandonne ma vie entre tes mains. Agis par mon intermédiaire. Parle-moi. Utilise-moi pour changer des vies. Enseigne-moi. Remplis-moi de ta puissance. Au nom de Jésus. Amen.

Beaucoup de nos contemporains sont en proie à l’inquiétude et aux soucis – pour leur travail, leur argent, leur famille et leurs relations. Ils laissent ces soucis prendre possession de leurs pensées et affecter chaque domaine de leur vie. Ils ne dorment pas bien et sont constamment de mauvaise humeur et irritables.

Si c’est votre cas, sachez que Dieu veut que vous viviez dans la paix – une paix qui surpasse l’intelligence. Qu’est ce que cela signifie ?

Cela veut dire que vous pouvez avoir la paix du cœur alors qu’il semble absurde d’être en paix ; quand le monde autour de vous est troublé et dans l’angoisse ; quand les circonstances échappent à votre contrôle ; quand les choses ne se passent pas comme vous l’aviez prévu. 

Vous servez un Dieu bon, et quelle que soit la situation aujourd’hui, il travaille en coulisses en votre faveur.

La notion de paix comporte celle d’unité retrouvée. Lorsque vous êtes un avec le Père par Jésus-Christ, sa paix surnaturelle commence automatiquement à remplir votre cœur. Toute cette angoisse et cette inquiétude disparaissent au fur et à mesure que la paix surnaturelle de Dieu garde votre cœur et dirige vos pas vers la vie abondante qu’il vous destine.

Une prière pour aujourd’hui

Père céleste, je te remets mes soucis et mes inquiétudes. Je choisis d’avoir confiance et de croire que tu œuvres en coulisses pour moi. Remplis-moi de ta paix et de ta joie aujourd’hui alors que je te remets chaque domaine de ma vie. Au nom de Jésus. Amen.

Your life, like Bethesda, has five porticoes. These are your 5 senses. Jesus manifests Himself through our senses.

Sometimes, through the view. We have a vision of him, his love, his heart, his sacrifice.

Sometimes, through our ears. His voice is heard. "My sheep hear my voice," says Jesus in John 10:27.

Sometimes, through taste or even smell. "Feel (or taste) how good the Lord is," the Bible tells us (Psalm 34: 9).

Sometimes, through touch. One feels physically the presence of the Lord. Sometimes tears come, sometimes laughter, and sometimes it is like a fire that invades us.

It is simply our body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit who reacts. At certain times, new tongues are given to us and spiritual gifts are communicated through our mouths. All this is the sign that Jesus, the Savior, the King, the living God entered his house.

Our life becomes a mercy house like Bethesda. Everything then becomes possible, because Jesus is there.

Today, as every day, Jesus wants to reveal Himself to you. He wants to show his presence, in many ways. Try to open your heart and all your senses to the manifestation of his presence. Can you hear him talking to you ? Can you see it, and visualize his work at the cross ? What's he saying ? What does he want to say through your mouth ?

A prayer for today

Lord, I long to know you more and to see, to feel, to taste, to hear and to touch your action in my life. I give you my heart and my whole life, Jesus. Be welcome to reveal yourself as you wish.

“Or, à Jérusalem, près de la porte des brebis, il y a une piscine qui s'appelle en hébreu Béthesda, et qui a cinq portiques.” Jean 5.2

Votre vie, comme Béthesda, a cinq portiques. Ce sont vos 5 sens. Jésus se manifeste au travers de nos sens.

Parfois, au travers de la vue. On a une vision de lui, de son amour, de son cœur, de son sacrifice.

Parfois, au travers de nos oreilles. On entend sa voix. “Mes brebis entendent ma voix”, dit Jésus dans Jean 10.27.

Parfois, au travers du goût ou même de l’odorat. “Sentez (ou goûtez) combien le Seigneur est bon”, nous dit la Bible (Psaume 34.9).

Parfois, au travers du toucher. On ressent physiquement la présence du Seigneur. Parfois des larmes viennent, parfois des rires, et parfois encore, c’est comme un feu qui nous envahit.

C’est simplement notre corps qui est le temple de l’Esprit Saint qui réagit. A certains moments, des langues nouvelles nous sont données et des dons spirituels sont communiqués par notre bouche. Tout cela est le signe que Jésus, le Sauveur, le Roi, le Dieu vivant est entré dans sa maison. 

Notre vie devient une maison de miséricorde comme Bethesda. Tout devient alors possible, parce que Jésus est là.

Aujourd’hui, comme chaque jour, Jésus veut se révéler à vous. Il veut manifester sa présence, de bien des manières. Essayez d’ouvrir grand votre cœur et tous vos sens à la manifestation de sa présence. Pouvez-vous l’entendre vous parler ? Pouvez-vous le voir, et visualiser son œuvre à la croix ? Que dit-il ? Qu’a-t-il envie de dire au travers de votre bouche ?

Une prière pour aujourd’hui

Seigneur, j’ai soif de te connaître toujours plus et de voir, sentir, goûter, entendre et toucher ton action dans ma vie. Je te donne mon cœur et ma vie tout entiers, Jésus. Sois le bienvenu pour te révéler comme tu le souhaites.

He is Jehovah Shalom - our peace. He is Jehovah M'kadesch - the one who sanctifies. He is Jehovah Rohi - the Shepherd.

With all these divine qualities united in you, you will be able to serve your neighbor, and the disease will flee from you. Fear will disappear. The depression will end. The scarcity will be changed in abundance.

Action for Today

Think of a person to pray for today. Believe that the anointing will provide for his need, whatever it may be.

Avec toutes ces qualités divines réunies en vous, vous pourrez servir votre prochain, et la maladie fuira loin de vous. La peur disparaîtra. La dépression prendra fin. La disette sera changée en abondance.

Pensez à une personne pour laquelle prier aujourd’hui. Croyez que l’onction pourvoira à son besoin quel, qu’il soit.

Do you know that God has time for you ?

Unfortunately, time seems to be lacking to many people for whom the essentials turn out to be elsewhere. A few months ago a man told me about the frustration he was experiencing because of a lack of prayer and the argument he put forward was a lack of time. Impressed by his musculature, I asked him how long he spent a day to have such a result. He told me that it took him at least two hours a day. In response, I advised him to undertake a full reassessment of his priorities.

Taking time with God is not a chore but a necessity ! Besides, we should never beg a Christian to go to prayer. "Seek her face continually !" Psalms 105 : 4

What is the last time you have reshuffled your schedule, switched off your cell phone, to have a real moment of intimacy with God ? Do you know that God has time for you ? "But when you pray, enter your room, close your door, and pray to your Father who is there in the secret place, he will give it back to you." Matthew 6 : 6

Offer God the best daily and you will see that he will know how to give it back to you. "Make thy delights of the LORD, and he will give thee what thy heart desireth." Psalms 37.4
